We are proud to be associated with the new CLEEn Environmental Education Center at Chesapeake College with our installation of an Endurance Wind Turbine. Chesapeake College offers students opportunities for related and specialized degrees due to their approved degree in environmental sciences and collaboration with other colleges. Courses in wind power, solar, geothermal and electrical systems are offered by the division of continuing education and workforce training. Their proposed CLEEn center will expand its programs and give hands-on experiences to complement the new K-12 Maryland State Board of Education requirement for environmental science literacy.
The center will also feature solar and geothermal power-generating technologies and offer hands-on learning access to the mechanical, electrical and solar elements of the building's operations. The new building is designed to be self-sufficient, producing as much power as it consumes. That is where ATech Energy comes in.
We have installed a 50KW Endurance wind turbine on the campus as part of phase one of the CLEEn environmental education center. It is designed for make power that is used on site. At the new center the college is looking to model renewable energy technologies while giving students and small businesses education and training opportunities.
We are very proud to be a part of this very unique project. It is a model for other schools looking to expand education in the area of renewable energy. |
